COI launches Paper Supply Framework review
24 March 2010
The Central Office of Information (COI) is reviewing its framework of suppliers that specialise in providing printing paper for its marketing communications material.
The current framework allows COI to make substantial savings on behalf of its clients, to strategically manage the supply of material and to standardise the quality and environmental status of paper used.
Suppliers will be selected through a rigorous procurement process on the basis of:
- Technical Competence
- Product Range
- Flexibility
- Price
The review aims to attract a broad range of suppliers, from well established companies to those who may not have worked with COI before.
COI Print Buyer, Olaf Dudley, who is leading the review said:
"Buying paper directly is just another way in which COI provides value for money for the taxpayer. Whether it has been for huge campaigns, such as nationwide door-drops, or for smaller day-to-day requirements, the paper framework has enabled COI to consistently supply quality products at prices well below the market average.
"To ensure that we continue to provide the best possible offer, we very much look forward to hearing from those suppliers who share COI's commitment to service excellence."
All suppliers interested in applying for the Paper Supply Framework should register on the COI e-tendering site at coi.bravosolution.co.uk and complete the invitation to tender (ITT) by 19 April 2010.
Questions about the framework can be sent via the messaging tool on the e-tendering site and questions and answers relevant to all applicants will be published via the site. Suppliers should not telephone queries to COI direct.
The framework review is expected to be completed by 5 July 2010.
