This page describes the Third Sector Investment Programme’s Innovation, Excellence and Service Development Fund. Applications to the 2011-12 Fund, which closed on 1 November 2010, are currently being assessed. Meanwhile, the information about the application process that appears below is being retained for reference.
All awards from the Innovation, Excellence and Service Development Fund from April 2011 are subject to funding allocations within the Department of Health. Those allocations will be made in the light of the Spending Review published in the autumn of 2010, which set the high-level picture for government departments. We launched the scheme in the summer of 2010 to maintain operational continuity and to demonstrate our commitment to working within the principles of the Compact to avoid any unnecessary gaps in funding flows to the Third Sector, but that does not guarantee the availability of funding. We will publish more information about the allocation of resources to the Fund when it becomes available.
You should read the information pack carefully as there are changes to the scheme; the eligibility rules; and the funding strands, themes and priorities for funding from 2011-2012. There are also improvements to the on-line application system.
The information pack provides third sector organisations with information to help them decide if this funding stream is applicable to both their organisation and the proposed activity they are seeking funding for. It details the funding themes for 2011-12, the priority areas for each theme and the criteria we will use for assessing applications. A timetable is provided for the whole process from application through to decision.
AIMS (Award Information Management System) is the Department of Health's on-line grant management system for the 2011-12 IESD Fund. AIMS allows you to make on-line applications for grant funding and will also enable progress / end-of-year reports of funded projects to be made on-line. Recognising that some organisations may prefer to draft their applications outside AIMS, we have supplied templates of the application forms in Microsoft Word format below. Nevertheless, only on-line applications will be accepted. Please note that the application forms for each of the three strands (Innovation; Excellence; Service Development) are different, so please make sure that you use the correct one.
We hosted three "Meet the Funder" events in London and Leeds on 31 August and 1 September 2010 to give potential applicants the opportunity to find out more about this year's funding scheme. Our presentation at those events can be accessed from the relevant link below.
A list of awards from the Third Sector Investment Programme and the Section 64 General Scheme of Grants in payment during 2010-11 can be accessed through the last of the links below.
