45 organisations awarded small grants to help revolutionise youth volunteering

In December 2005 forty-five organisations across England were awarded funding to help implement the Commission’s recommendations. The funding was used to enable organisations to develop strategies to involve young volunteers, as well as sharing existing good practice in engaging groups of young people who don’t traditionally volunteer. Over 290 applications were received for the grants round, demonstrating commitment from a wide range of organisations to implement the Commission's recommendations.

An evaluation of this grants round has now been completed. See the final report.
