This competition is asking for your help in developing better ways to publish the vast swathes of non-personal information that the government collects & creates on your behalf
Public data is your data. Tell us what you'd build with it and you could win £20k to develop your idea to the next level.

I've just happened across this initiative but am at a bit of a loss where it's at; has there been a winner yet?
I also feel that unfortunately I missed the boat. I've been working with some others for over two years now creating an online open resource for legal aid professionals, based around commons-based peer production, and and would have very much welcomed engaging with this.
Shouldn't there be a 'what next' section? Is this the end? What happens to us who were too slow first time around...?
I'll carry on browsing the site and see if I can work out what's going on. Any pointers from the more experienced users in this community would be really welcome.

Isn't it time you updated the site to reflect the status quo?

It's perhaps interesting to note that the winning idea, 'Can I Recycle It?', could currently not be put on-line for free.
I believe it would need access to the Post Office Postcode database and the Ordnance Survey's Boundary-line data (to map post code and/or map click to local authority).
Please go and vote for free web look-up (not bulk download) of these fundamental data sets at
