About

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is a new and independent body created by the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009. It will provide rigorous scrutiny and review of the allowances scheme for Members of Parliament.

The establishment of this new body will represent a break from old practices and put in place a new independent system for the payment of salaries and allowances for MPs.

For more information about IPSA, please read the Frequently Asked Questions.
