Business Needs Survey (BNS)
The main aim of the BNS survey programme is to measure changes in customer satisfaction, reported against the former HMC&E Customer Service PSA targets and to identify areas where improvement maybe necessary. Details of the full and summary reports are available in this section.
Customs Info & Processing Requirements
CIPR21 scoping study was set up to progress the recommendations published in The Customs Long Term Freight Policy (CLFTP), which assessed the implications for Customs of developments in international trade. Recommendation 10 of the report, under Information Technology, was to assess 21st century processing needs in preparation for the replacment of CHIEF. Reports produced to date in respect of CIPR21 are published here.

Excise News is a newsletter that is published by the Holding and Movement team. It contains articles on a variety of excise issues across all the regimes, and is used not only to inform members of the trade but also as a reference tool for our officers.

Public Service Agreement
Details the Public Service Agreements (including technical notes) and its aim to administer the indirect tax and customs control systems fairly and efficiently.
Risk
This section includes a number of reports produced in repect of the responsbilities of Customs and Excise with regard to management of risks to the public, plus reports on mesures and tackling indirect tax fraud and losses.
