This Procurement Strategy should be read in conjunction with the Department's Commercial Vision. It sets out how the Department for Transport (DfT) and its subsidiary bodies intend to achieve added value, innovation and quality through procurement excellence in the delivery of the Department's business objectives.
It also outlines key principles and objectives, and describes the governance mechanisms that will be used to help achieve the desired outcomes. It explains the respective roles and responsibilities of the centre and Agencies / business units, and finally highlights the shared ownership of this strategy.
