Planning inspection
Inspection visits to children’s homes are usually unannounced, but we will normally make arrangements in advance when we inspect an agency, school or college.
We will ask you to give us your assessment of the quality of care you provide in the form of a self-evaluation. This will give you the opportunity to tell us what you are doing well, what you could do better, and what you will improve.
We will use this information, along with any information we hold about your service, to plan our inspection visit. We will decide which things we need to pay particular attention to, and how we will do so.
We will also send some children or young people a survey form to see what they think about your service, and decide which children or young people’s experience to use as a representative sample to 'case track' when we visit you.
