Policy M3 of the South East's Regional Spatial Strategy

The Secretary of State has published for consultation his Proposed Changes to the South East's Regional Spatial Strategy in relation to Policy M3 - the amount of primary aggregates (sand, gravel and crushed rock) that each minerals planning authority (county and unitary councils) should provide.

Next Steps

Consultation will close on 1 June 2010, following consideration of responses the final policy will be published.


Public consultation on the draft Regional Spatial Strategy review closed on 26 June 2009 and an examination in public was held between 6 and 8 October 2009. 

The independent panel which conducted the examination in public submitted their report to the Secretary of State on 27 November 2009.
