Barbara Follett, Minister for the East of England presented with the East of England Plan > 2031

The East of England Regional Assembly (EERA) has approved a draft revision to the East of England Plan Regional Spatial Strategy, titled East of England Plan > 2031. EERA presented this to the Regional Minister, Barbara Follett and to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on 30th March 2010.

GO East Business Plan 2010 – Transforming lives, transforming places

GO East exists to improve the quality of life and life chances of the people who live and work in the East of England. Our new Business Plan has been published and sets out how we will improve the lives of people in the East of England in 2010 and the challenging commitments the organisation has set itself. It also highlights just some of the successes we have had and the differences we have made in 2009-10.

Four areas in the East of England are set to receive a share of £15m for bus services announced by Transport Minister Sadiq Khan

The Kickstart programme offers financial backing to help launch new or improved services, with the focus on getting more people travelling on buses as well as improving accessibility. Residents in St Albans, Watford, Southend and Norfolk are all set to benefit from this second round of Kickstart grants.

Denham- New Support for Seaside Success

A new strategy to help all seaside towns flourish by restoring iconic piers, creating new jobs, and improving local housing was announced today by Communities Secretary John Denham. The Governments want to ensure coastal areas are best placed to take advantage of their natural resources and assets, historic infrastructure, and high quality of life, as well emerging green industries - to develop strong and successful local economies.

The Government’s objective is to build a strong economy and a fair society where there is opportunity and security for all.

Therefore, today, the Chancellor sets out the next steps in the Government’s plan to secure the recovery and build strong sustainable economic growth, halving the deficit over four years and protecting the frontline services that the people of the East of England rely on.
