This section provides a range of data, intelligence and spatial resources for the region.

Acxiom

Through an exclusive data sharing partnership, Yorkshire Futures and Yorkshire Forward is able to make Acxiom national lifestyle survey data available to public sector organisations via a dedicated web portal.

This covers an extensive range of information including financial, demographic, shopping preferences, leisure choices, income, technology, skills, environment and perception of public place and services.

Maps and Data

This section contains links to maps and data about the Yorkshire and Humber region. You can download a map of the region or a city region map by clicking on the menu on the left hand side of this page.

For data about the region, please have a look at Progress in the Region Live. This is an interactive map that allows you to see at a glance how our region, and the local authorities within it, are doing compared to the regional and national average.

If you are looking for more detailed information about your local area, please browse our list of links to statistics and GIS websites.

Progress in Pictures

Progress in Pictures (PIP) is a new resource which complements our annual Progress in the Region report and our Progress in the Region Live tool. PIP is a longitudinal study of progress in the region through the medium of photography. Photographer Steve Morgan has visited 150 locations throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region. Steve has aimed to capture the economic, social and environmental life of our region. This has meant not just taking pictures of places, but also, for example - the mix of people present, cultural activities, the feel of shops, the condition of housing estates, types of cars on the road, wildlife habitats etc.

The photographs have been mapped to their locations and are free to view and download. The long term goal is that the pictures should map development, and equally non-development, in the region over the next few years.

PIR Live

Progress in the Region Live is an interactive map that allows you to see at a glance how our region, and the local authorities within it, are doing compared to the regional and national average.

It holds infomation about the Yorkshire and Humber economy, environment and society, including data on the number of businesses started each year, how clean our rivers are, and how many students achieve 5 good GCSEs etc.

Regional Econometric Forecasts

Yorkshire Forward and Yorkshire Futures have developed a Regional Econometric Forecasting Model with Experian Business Strategies Ltd. The model enables forecasting and scenario building about the future of the region’s economy – such as the knock on effects of a large company closure on related sectors and the impact of changes to the national economy at the regional level.

The model has the capability to produce detailed assessments of the impact that job creation and loss will have on the region’s economy. It can also predict future employment growth and decline by industry sector, GVA, productivity, population, occupation forecasts and changes in qualification requirements. A technical working group of regional, sub-regional and local partners is developing the model to user specifications. Local survey data is now being further developed into the model, strengthening the basis for its predictions.
