Firm continues Yorkshire expansion

19/05/2010

Facilities management company Europa is to lift the number of staff it employs in Yorkshire to 200 after acquiring a building services firm.
Europa, which already has an office in Wakefield, has bought Nationwide Building Services Group - the parent company of Nationwide Maintenance, Falcon Mechanical and Nationwide LCS.
The deal for Nationwide, which is based in Armley, Leeds, will help boost Europa's business of self-delivering mobile and static building maintenance services.
The new division will trade as Europa Nationwide Technical Services, but the current management team will be kept on.
John Quigley will become managing director, while John Ralph will be operations director and Chris Sykes the finance director.
Europa - based in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire - has main offices in Wakefield, Manchester, Glasgow and Hamilton, and has recently been active across Yorkshire.
Earlier in 2010, it acquired Harrogate and Leeds-based Operon FM.
