CompeteFor is the chosen website of London 2012 for the publication of Games-related business contract opportunities. Businesses of any size can use CompeteFor’s “dating agency” type brokerage service – either as a buyer or as a supplier of Games-related goods and services. Companies first need to register the basic details of their organisation. This will allow them to view opportunities and gain access to Games-related business news and events. They will also be able to post opportunities as a buyer.

The site has been developed on behalf of the English Regional Development Agencies and UK Devolved Administrations by the London Development Agency, working closely with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).

Contract opportunities span a wide range of sectors including Accommodation, Business services and consultancy, Communications, Construction, Education and training, Electronics and IT services, Engineering and maintenance, Equipment hire and supply, Leisure, Logistics, Manufacture, supply and install, Media and broadcasting, Recruitment, Retail, Safety, health and environment, Utilities and Welfare.

Across the South East region, 11,066 companies to date have recorded their details in the registration process, with almost 5,000 of these now having completed their pre-qualification and therefore ready to tender.

To apply for contracts listed on CompeteFor as a supplier, companies must complete and publish a full business profile. Once their profile has been published, they can track their activity and search for other suppliers with whom they may wish to partner. They will automatically receive news of future tender opportunities and will be matched to the buyers. Companies cannot respond to available opportunities until their profile is fully published.
