Getting it right for young people

Engagement Network

The National Youth Agency will be developing a process to support services and local authorities in providing best practice around NEET provision.

A group of young people will become local and national experts in advising strategic managers on the provision for young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET.

They will also work alongside local authority staff to set up and train a steering group for their local authority of young people who have been or are at present NEET.

"This is a really exciting project for the NYA to be involved in and one that can potentially make a huge difference to the expectations of young people across the country."

Fiona Blacke, Chief Executive, National Youth Agency

[Note: The map below will feature blogs from young people sharing their experiences of having been or who are at present NEET.  Look out for sections to follow.]

Blogging

We want to capture young people’s experience of provision they have been involved in…

We want to know:

  • Life stories of how people have become NEET
  • What provision has been good in helping with individual problems
  • What doesn’t work or hasn’t been helpful

Contact Adam Williams to share your story.
