Performance Management

The Government Office Network is currently implementing a consistent approach to performance management that is flexible enough to meet both sponsor Department and Government Office requirements. For the first time, the process will bring together business and resource planning, integrate risk management and provide performance reports both to sponsor Departments and Government Offices.

The process is being supported by the On-line Performance Management System (OPMS) – a web based system that allows Government Offices to capture their business plans and performance data. The system also allows users to view plans and performance information across the Network.

OPMS allows objectives in plans to be linked to Public Service Agreements (PSAs), Government Office-specific priorities and geographic locations. It also allows Government Offices to create their quarterly PSA and PSA measure reports. These reports have been directly available to Sponsor Departments from August 2008.
