Improving Health

We want to encourage and support people to lead healthier lives. Central to this is our work with colleagues to help to create the kinds of environments that make it easier for people to do so.

Regional Public Health groups work alongside other government departments and many different partners and agencies to promote health improvement and reduce health inequalities. More information on the national picture

Priority topics for us include

  • alcohol – working closely with colleagues in Community Safety
  • food, nutrition and physical activity
  • tobacco control
  • the health and wellbeing of children and young people – working closely with colleagues in Children, Schools and Families.
