Government Offices make a regional contribution to the Government’s aim to build a safe, just and tolerant society, protect the public and ensure the balance between the rights and responsibilities of individuals, families and communities is properly maintained. Government Offices also deliver the four key themes of the National Drug Strategy.

To do this we work
closely with the region’s 21 Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs)
to improve their effectiveness in building a safe, just and tolerant
society.
Sharing good practice through bespoke
events, policy guidance and peer support is a key role of the
Directorate.
To maximise our impact, we are organised into four geographically-based
Area Delivery Teams covering the four sub-regions within Yorkshire and
Humber.
We work closely with the following
co-located teams:
• Home Office Research, Development and Statistics (RDS)
Team, which undertakes research and analysis of crime patterns and
trends with an emphasis on identifying, evaluating and disseminating
good practice to CSPs.
• Drugs National Treatment Agency (NTA) Team, which drives
the delivery of drugs treatment services throughout England.
• The National Offender Management Service
(NOMS).
