Preparing for Emergencies

Government Office for the West Midlands is working to make the West Midlands a safer and more prosperous place to live and work by developing the community’s resilience to disruptive challenge.

Government Office for the West Midlands Regional Resilience Team was formed in April 2003, and has 5 full time members of staff, including a Regional Resilience Director.

We are working closely with Central Government and regional partners including:

  • Local authorities Police
  • Fire and Ambulance Services
  • Military
  • Voluntary Aid Societies
  • Media organisations
  • Transport
  • Communications
  • Utility
  • Business Sectors
