New Local Authority Health Profiles

Published: Fri, 16 Jun 2006 02:00:00

A set of Health Profiles for English Local Authorities has been made available on a new Department of Health website.

The site includes profiles for 50 SW local authorities, 6 county councils, 35 district councils and 9 unitary councils (Isles of Scilly is not covered due to data limitations). The full set of profiles has been produced by Public Health Observatories and will be updated every year.

These Health Profiles are designed to be used to highlight the health issues for local authority areas and to compare them with other areas. They show where there are important problems with health or health inequalities.

Later in the year, the Profiles will be released in a more accessible popular format designed specifically to communicate relevant key health messages to the local community.
