In these challenging times the Government Office for the South East has a
vital role to play. In support of our Regional
Minister, our role is to:
- raise awareness of Government economic policy and initiatives in the
- feed back the unique needs of people and businesses in the South East
to influence decisions centrally
- work closely with a wide range of partners within the South East, to
coordinate an effective response to the current economic conditions
and support a strong recovery
South East Economic Delivery Council
Together with the South East England
Development Agency (SEEDA) Government Office supports and advises
the South East Economic Delivery Council (SEEDC).
SEEDC leads the regional response to the economic challenges facing the
South East. It is chaired by Jonathan Shaw MP the Regional
Minister, with members taken from Business, the Public Sector and
the Voluntary and Community Sectors in the region. It feeds regional and
local intelligence into the Regional Economic
Council and Council of Regional
Ministers, as well as agreeing collective action to tackle specific
issues that are affecting the south East economy.
