Who do we work for?
We bring together regional activities to meet the targets of our sponsor departments. These are:-
Which geographical areas do we cover?
We want to reflect the diversity of our region, by focusing our efforts on the differing needs of all parts of the East Midlands. We cover Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
Who do we work with?
Many other organisations work with us across the region so that we can achieve our aims. These include businesses, local education authorities, schools, colleges and voluntary organisations. Together we help government initiatives work at a local level. We also reflect back the needs of the East Midlands to central Government.
We also have responsibility for approving and administering national and European grant programmes.
Find Out More About the Region with Fact Files
Fact Files provide briefing for Ministers visiting key cities and nine regions on seven key topic areas. They contain maps, satellite images and council information, in addition to local and national statistical information from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and local intelligence on children and learners, health and well being, crime, transport, social inclusion and regeneration and European funding.
The Fact Files help Ministers and other users to have the most relevant and up-to-date information. Plans are in place to expand coverage of the City Files from next March.
We welcome your feedback on the format and ideas for improving the quality and coverage of the Fact Files. Contact us at enquiries@goem.gsi.gov.uk.
