The region received almost £711 million Single
Regional Housing Pot funding for the two financial years 2008-2011.
This funding is being spent on key priorities for the
region, which are the need to respond to the challenges of growth,
affordability and accessibility, and to improve the existing stock in both
the public and private sectors.
Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Housing Needs Report
A report on the Housing Needs of BME groups in the East of England has
recently been published. The study was commissioned to identify the needs
and aspirations of BME communities in the East of England in order to
inform the Regional Housing Strategy and promote a more consistent approach
across the region to researching those needs in accordance with the
statutory and regulatory framework. The study was commissioned jointly by
the Housing Coproration, GO-East, the East of England Regional Assembly
(EERA) and the East of England Development Agency (EEDA). A copy of this
report has been posted on EERA's website, titled 'Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Housing Needs
Report'.
