The Department of Health has published a consultation paper advising the Local Government Association, councils with social services responsibilities, Care Trusts and other interested parties of the proposed changes to the system for residential care charges to be made in April 2006. A consultation on the proposed changes is taking place between 24 January 2006 and 7 March 2006.
Chief Executives are asked to ensure awareness of this consultation within their organisation.
