Reduced seating capacity continues to cause disruption at Kew

26 February 2008

Changes to services including critical building work, as part of the Kew improvement programme will continue until late spring 2008. Unfortunately, there will be significantly reduced seating capacity as well as noise and disruption whilst this continues. You may wish to avoid coming to Kew on Tuesdays or Thursdays, as these are our busiest days. Or, even to delay planning your visit until the work has been completed.

Find out more about the disruption to our services.

Changes to original document services

Due to significantly reduced seating capacity we have temporarily withdrawn the facility for visitors to order original documents in advance of their visit to Kew, until late spring 2008. Bulk ordering will remain available. Find out more about these arrangements.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these essential building works may cause you.

Transfer of The National Archives' services from the Family Records Centre

The services provided by The National Archives at the Family Records Centre (FRC) are transferring to Kew. These will no longer be available at the FRC after 15 March 2008. The new integrated services will be available at Kew from 25 March 2008. Access to microfilm/microfiche and computer terminals at Kew will be particularly limited during the period 17-20 March 2008 inclusive.
