About Race Online 2012

The internet's great isn't it? It lets us buy stuff, stay in touch with friends, get info and access a world of entertainment. Could you imagine your life without it?

10 million people in the UK don't have to. That's the number of people who have never been online. Worryingly, four million of these people are also amongst the country's most socially excluded. So the people who have the most to gain from the internet - whether to overcome isolation or to save money - are the ones who are missing out.

We are working to change that. Led by Martha Lane Fox, we're a small team with a big vision - we want to get the UK as close as possible to 100% online by the London Olympics.

That's what the Race Online 2012 initiative is about.
