Summary

This consultation seeks views from consultees on the Government's detailed proposals for the introduction of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), including draft regulations. CIL will be a new charge which local authorities in England and Wales will be empowered, but not required, to charge on most types of new development in their area.

The consultation should be read in conjunction with the draft regulations and reference documents and partial impact assessment which are available below.
