Summary

This page has statistics for the quality of childcare in England from March 2005 to August 2008. Childcare provisions include all provisions which offer care for children under the age of 8 for a specified duration and are thus inspected under the Childrens Act.

The March 2005 statistics cover the first cycle of inspections.

The September 2006 statistics are the first information from the second cycle.

For statistics from September 2008 onwards please go to the registered childcare inspection outcomes page. Please read the summary on the page first as it explains what these new statistics are.
