10 days to go until changes to Tier 1 and Tier 2 (26/03/2010)

On 18 March we set out the changes we are making to Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Points-Based System.  The new rules come into force for all applications from 6 April.

If you wish to apply under the current rules, the date of your application must be 5 April or before.  This means that if you apply from April 6 your Certificate of Sponsorship must meet the new criteria, even if it was assigned before the rules changed.  If you are a Tier 2 Sponsor, you may wish to check with any migrants you are sponsoring that they have submitted their application.

For more information about making an application abroad, please see our How to apply - a step by step guide page.
