The focus of this role is to lead Zero Waste Scotland's consumer and business focused campaigns in Scotland, and encourage people and businesses to recycle more things, more often as well as reduce waste. The postholder will be expected to develop and lead a comprehensive strategy for Zero Waste Scotland's consumer and business campaigns. They will lead the Zero Waste Scotland campaign team and work with the Scottish Government and other national agencies to coordinate with cross-cutting campaigns. The successful applicant will be an experienced campaigner with experience in delivering high profile integrated consumer and/or business focused behaviour change campaigns.
The focus of this role is to support Scottish local authorities to develop and improve their recycling services. You will manage a number of projects and help to define good practice advice for councils on waste collection, recycling and composting. You will develop good working relationships with local authorities and act as an ambassador for Zero Waste Scotland in the local government sector. The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have direct experience of planning and delivering waste and recycling services for local authorities or commercial or third sector businesses.
Zero Waste Scotland is working to bring about major change in the way materials are used in the construction industry, from improving on-site waste management practices, supporting recycling infrastructure and increasing procurement of recycled content. We are seeking a competent and highly motivated individual to lead our interaction with major Scottish-based construction clients, developers and their supply chains. This work will contribute to the industry target of Halving Waste to Landfill (HWTL) by 2012. The role involves engaging with clients, designers and contractors, making the case for change, assessing their support needs, and managing projects that deliver practical change.
The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to a number of Zero Waste Scotland projects and to contribute to the successful delivery of the overall programme. Reporting to the Programme Manager - Recycling, you will work on a number of projects, providing project support, gathering monitoring data, being a named contact for project enquiries, and supporting external tendering processes. You should be also willing to take on leadership of smaller projects and see these through to completion with assistance from the relevant project manager. The successful applicant will have excellent IT and administrative skills and experience of working within project teams. Knowledge of recycling and/or environmental issues is desirable but not essential.
To provide support, including project management support, for work carried out within the Construction Programme to help deliver the Government-industry target to halve construction waste to landfill (½W2L) by 2012. This specific role will help the Construction Clients & Policy team achieve WRAP's 2011 Business Plan target for £30bn value of construction projects where procurement requirements require good practice that delivers ½W2L. The role will involve working with a range of construction clients, WRAP's framework contractors and the other teams in the Construction Programme (which target other parts of the construction supply chain) as well as communications, regeneration and retail.
