Session 1: Relocation Update - Steve Mills, OGC
The day started with Steve Mills from OGC, updating the current relocation position with delegates. With the aid of maps, charts, figures and statistics he provided the full current position.

Session 2: Thinking outside the box - The Sheffield Project HO/DWP/DfES - Philip Calvert, Home Office and Joe Cassidy, DfES
Philip Calvert from the Home Office and Joe Cassidy from DfES talked about building the business for co-location of three government departments (Home Office, Department of Work and Pensions and the Department for Education and Skills) in Sheffield releasing space for relocation. A good example of where collaborative approach delivers wider benefits.

Session 3: Building a Well Thought Out Business Case - Brian Redford, HMRC
Brian Redford from HM Revenue and Customs gave a presentation about the reuse of assets and staff freed by efficiencies, utilising the departments existing footprint. He started by explaining the delegates the breakdown of the new structure of the department, followed by a list of challenges that were faced during the process. The presentation ended with the lessons learnt from the process.

Session 4: Realising the Benefits of Relocation - Prof Steve Hill, DEFRA Central Science Labs
Prof Steve Hill from the Central Science Laboratory (CSL), an executive Agency of  DEFRA, took the delegates step by step through his relocation experience. He talked about the relocation benefits and issues CSL faced during the process.

Gavin Crowden talked about their Relocation Guidance and ways in which the ODPM  chose and evaluated locations.

Sarah Denly from DfES (Head of NDPB Support) talked about her relocation experiences in the Department for Education and Skills relocation and downsizing, she introduced ways of managing the business and the people while going through the challenge of change. She focused on the lessons learnt by her experiences.
