You and Us
OGC works in collaboration with central civil government departments on an agreed set of priorities. For smaller departments we offer self-service guidance and products, available via this site or from the OGC Service Desk.
Programme and project management
All central civil government departments have their own Centres of Excellence (COE) for programme and project management. COEs are the first port of call for sector-specific best practice guidance for staff in departments, non departmental public bodies (NDPBs) and agencies. Below are some of our most popular generic products, services and guidance for PPM practitioners.
- OGC GatewayTM process for project and programme assurance
- Prince 2 project management method
- Managing Successful Programmes
- Improving your professional PPM skills
- OGC's Resource Toolkit
- Senior responsible owner essentials
Centre of Expertise in Sustainable Procurement
Budget 2008 announced the establishment of a Centre of Expertise in Sustainable Procurement (CESP) within OGC. This announcement was further developed in the Government's response to the SDC's 6th annual SDiG report.
Estates
High Performing Property is a major change programme. It requires accounting officers to address the workforce issues that arise out of decisions about the location from which they run their business and from the improvements made to the use of workspace. It requires a clear link between increased and better use of information technology and locational decisions. It challenges the Government to bring about a deep-seated and lasting improvement in estate procurement.
Policy and Standards framework
Welcome to the Policy and Standards Framework, a new on-line portal to guide you through the key principles and processes of public procurement, helping you understand "what to do" and "how to do it".
Markets & Collaborative Procurement
Our team works with Government departments to develop and manage strategies that deliver greater value for money for your department and Government as a whole. We strive to improve the quality of management information available on procurement spend to ensure the implementation of common standards and greater transparency. We seek to improve access to better deals for Central Government by working with and through Professional Buying Organisations (PBOs): this includes sharing information and ensuring that the best deals are in place to help departments save money. We also provide eProcurement tools, such as the Contracts Database and eAuctions that can help you to avoid costs and achieve savings.
