The Scottish Government spending on goods and services amounts to around £8 billion per year.†The General Register Office for Scotland (GROS),†as a public sector organisation contributes to this overall spend and has itís own procurement team to purchase goods and services. All purchases are governed by procurement guidelines.
The public procurement reform programme, of which GROS is part of,†aims to drive up standards in the way the public sector procures goods and services to ensure that tax payers money is spent as wisely as possible.
Guidance on the Scottish Government procurement policy and practice can be found on the Scottish Government Website.
Scottish Government guidance on selling to the wider public sector can be found Scottish Government Website.
