The Government Office for the East of England Regional Resilience Team (RRT) was created to fulfil two main roles:
- support the development and operation of the RRF
- provide the link between central Government and the local agencies that respond to emergencies
We have developed links with the wide variety of organisations in the East of England who have a role to play in planning for or responding to civil emergencies. We communicate regularly with those who have roles and responsibilities placed on them by the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
We host a number of events where the East of England’s emergency planners have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with senior officials from a variety of central Government departments.
We take part in a number of local, regional and cross-regional exercises. These are designed to test the plans and procedures of organisations who have a role to play during an emergency.
