Summary

This framework document has been drawn up jointly by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB). It sets out the broad framework within which ARB and CLG currently intend to operate. The document does not create a legally binding contract. It does not convey any legal powers or responsibilities nor have legal effect or consequences, nor does it fetter ARB's discretion in relation to specific decisions.

The document is signed and dated by both parties in order to indicate their present intention to work within the framework. Copies of the document have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses of Parliament and also been made available to the public on the ARB website (see On other sites, top right).
