Changing your business details for Corporation Tax

There are a number of occasions when you need to tell HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) about changes to your business details for Corporation Tax. For example, you'll need to tell HMRC if you change the contact details for your company or organisation, or appoint an accountant or tax adviser to deal with your Corporation Tax affairs.

This guide explains when and how to tell HMRC about these changes to your company or organisation. It also explains how you can tell HMRC about many of these changes online.

You should tell HMRC (and in some instances Companies House - see the section on changing your registered company name and/or address below) as soon as possible if your company or organisation’s name or contact details change.

You should do this even if you’ve already informed other HMRC tax areas such as VAT or PAYE. You can do this online or by post. The following sections show you how to do this.
