Knighthoods conferred

The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon Their Honours Judge Antony James Cobham Edwards-Stuart, QC, Judge Kenneth Blades Parker QC and Judge Peter Marcel Roth QC on their appointment as Justices of the High Court.

The Queen has approved the nomination of the Venerable Donald Spargo Allister MA, Archdeacon of Chester, for election as Bishop of Peterborough in succession to the late Right Reverend Ian Patrick Martyn Cundy, MA.

National Maritime Museum

The Prime Minister has re-appointed David Moorhouse CBE and Dr David Quarmby CBE as Trustees of the National Maritime Museum. Their second terms of appointment will run from 28 October 2009 to 29 October 2013.

Suffragan See of Whitby

The Queen has approved the nomination of the Reverend Canon Martin Clive Warner, MA, PhD, Canon Residentiary of St Paul’s Cathedral, to the Suffragan See of Whitby, in the Diocese of York, in succession to the Right Reverend Robert Sidney Ladds, BEd, LRSC, on his resignation on 31 December 2008.

National Heritage Memorial Fund

The Prime Minister has reappointed Christopher Woodward as a Trustee of the National Heritage Memorial Fund. His second terms of appointment will run 1st November 2009 until 31st October 2012. Three year terms are a requirement of the National Heritage Act.
