Brief Description

Good administrative staff with excellent customer service skills are vital to the effective operation of the Courts, Tribunals and other offices within the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Most of the staff within MoJ are employed in administrative roles.

You will be required to travel to training events and meetings and to clerk Social Security and Child Support hearings at external sites. The majority of the latter will take place at the Harrow Civic Centre.

Vacancy description

1. Creating and updating records on in-house computer system and data input
2. Producing court/tribunal documents
3. Preparing files for court/tribunal hearings
4. Filling out forms, preparing the court/hearing room
5. Keeping parties informed of changes to hearing times
6. Maintaining records of hearings
7. Answering queries (telephone/written correspondence/face-to-face)
8. Clerking at tribunals and serving tribunal users
9. General photocopying and filing
10. Dealing with numerical calculations
11. Post opening
12. General ad hoc office duties

Qualifications

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language at C or above, or relevant experience.

Experience

Intermediate level knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel is desirable, as is experience of working with the Judiciary or in a Judicial environment.
