Brief Description

As Surveyor/Spatial Analyst, you will contribute to the aims of the Group in relation to technical and scientific casework and research, outreach and education. You will report to the Scottish Ten Project Manager of TCG.

You will deliver a range of diverse projects focusing on digital documentation of heritage sites – from architectural to archaeological. You will be part of a dynamic and specialised team which is utilising cutting edge 3D terrestrial laser scanning technologies, high-end GPS and traditional digital surveying techniques. The post will primarily involve field-based data collection, but also some data processing and 2D/3D outputs.

Vacancy description

There may be the opportunity for primary research. You will participate in outreach events and dissemination to a wide range of audiences from schoolchildren to peer-group professionals. You will be involved in collaborative work with others and commissioned projects.

Flexibility in working location is required as the post-holder will have a base at offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Field work away from home may on occasion be of a few weeks in duration. This is a travelling officer post and you would be expected to travel throughout Scotland and possibly be involved in a number of international projects.
