Brief Description

The role will be expected to give expert technical advice on the full range of electrical systems, activities and work that affect the Agency. The role will be expected to be the Regional Electrical Advisor(REA) on behalf of the Regional MEICA Engineer for Thames Region.

In addition to job profile it would be desirable to have supervision experience for managing contractors. A robust approach to Health and Safety is essential.

Vacancy description

This post is a critical post as it takes on the role as the Regional Electrical Advisor on behalf of the Regional Engineer. This role by virtue of their qualifications, knowledge and experience can give expert advice on the full range of electrical systems, activities and work which affect the Agency. The duties and responsibilities include:-

Advising on Statutory requirements to comply with Electricity and Work Regs 1989 and the Agency Code of Practice for Electrical Safety.

Monitoring and reporting on commissioning and acceptance testing of new/refurbished electrical installations in Region and ensuring compliance with Regulations.

Controlling competency levels of employees to undertake specified ranges of works, issue of certificates for authorisation to undertake electrical works and records of certified authorised persons.

The role is to support the Regions for advice all matters electrical to ensure that we are fulfilling our Statutory and Health and Safety requirements.
