Independent Complaints Advocacy Services (ICAS)

The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS) supports patients and their carers wishing to pursue a complaint about their NHS treatment or care. This statutory service was launched on 1 September 2003 and provides for the first time a national service delivered to agreed quality standards.

ICAS - award of new contracts to secure the future of the service

Following a rigorous procurement exercise, the Department of Health has recently awarded contracts to three organisations who will deliver a new and improved Independent Complaints Advocacy Service from 1st April 2006 across England.
