Digital Economy Bill
The Digital Economy Bill aims to introduce measures to significantly reduce online infringement of copyright. It is estimated that such infringement produces losses of £400m per annum.

News
A total of £3.5 million investment has been announced for centres of excellence in Abertay University, Dundee and Media City UK, Manchester as part of the Government’s commitment to maintaining the UK’s global reputation in the growing video games industry. [9 December 2009]
At the end of October business leaders from across the creative sector came together at the Government’s first Creativity and Business International Network (C&binet) event – a high level forum designed to foster international dialogue about the creative economy. Key topics under discussion were: access to finance for creative industries; new business models for online content; developing talent; and securing creative rights. We have announced a new system for classifying video games as part of the Digital Britain report. We have also published the official government response to the consultation. [16 June 2009]
