Student finance contacts

Contact points for information about financing university and higher education courses, or repaying student loans.

Your student finance application

Contact Student Finance England for an update on your application for student finance.

Repaying student loans

Contact the Student Loans Company if you have a question about repaying your student loan.

If your student loan is administered by another company

Some student loans have been sold by the government and transferred to two private companies to administer:

  • Honours Student Loans
  • Thesis Servicing

If this applies to any of your student loans, and you need to speak to someone about them, you should contact the company who is responsible for their administration - not the Student Loans Company.

Students from other EU countries

Contact the Student Finance Services European Team for advice on applying for finance in England, Northern Ireland or Wales as an EU student.

Ordering publications

Contact the student finance publications order line to get hard copy versions of student finance guidance booklets.

Appealing against a decision by Student Finance England

Student Finance England handles applications for new students starting a course from the 2009/10 academic year onwards.

If you think Student Finance England has made a mistake when deciding whether you’re entitled to student finance – or how much you get – you can ask for the decision to be reviewed. To find out more, download the guidance on how to appeal.

Student finance complaints

If you have a problem with your student finance application or your online account, it’s usually possible to settle it with a phone call – or by logging in to your student finance online account and selecting ‘ask a question’.

If this doesn’t resolve the problem, see 'How to Make a Complaint' for information on how to take it further.

NHS Student Bursaries

Contact details for information about bursaries for students on NHS-funded healthcare courses.
