Safer Roads for Cumbria

Safer Roads for Cumbria is the public face of the Cumbria Road Safety Partnership which comprises the following organisations:

  • Cumbria County Council 
  • Cumbria Constabulary 
  • Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service 
  • The Highways Agency    
  • Capita Symonds 
  • Cumbria Safety Cameras 
  • Cumbria Chamber of Commerce 
  • The Freight Transport Association 
  • Primary care trusts
  • West Cumbria Motorcycle Action  Group
  • Penrith & North Lakes Advanced Motorists                          

Through partnership working, Safer Roads for Cumbria is determined to cut the number of killed and injury collisions (KSIs) on the county's roads in line with the Government's target of a 40 per cent reduction in KSIs by 2010.  

This web site shows what is happening within the county to reduce KSIs. lists of campaigns and press releases, areas on training and the law, plus links to other road safety organisations nationally.

There is also a contact section which enables you to give us your feedback or queries on road safety.

Pass Plus+ : Safer Roads For Cumbria has increased the subsidy for the course to £140 from October 1 2008. This means that for most students who take the course there will be no extra costs. More information on main Pass Plus+ page.
