Early years registered providers inspections outcomes

This page has statistics for the inspection of early years registered providers in England since the introduction of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) on 1 September 2008. The EYFS is the regulatory and quality framework for the provision of learning, development and care for children between birth and the end of the academic year in which they turn five (0–5).

The publications are interactive excel spreadsheets that show figures at local authority, government office region and national level.

Good professional development in schools

This good practice report considers what makes continuing professional development work so well in successful schools. It identifies four key questions that effective school leaders regularly ask themselves about the quality of their arrangements for professional development. The report then sets out the key characteristics of good practice associated with the four areas and illustrates these to help all schools learn from the examples. It also identifies three barriers that confront schools.
