Celebrating the addition of acclaimed works of art into public collections

The nation's public collections are given boost by the addition of several highly valued art pieces. Art works including a collection of Camden Town school paintings, a Degas bronze sculpture, a portait by Sir Peter Lely, a 17th century Boulle’s cabinet and the chattels associated with Lyme Park in Cheshire. The celebrated pieces have been given to the nation in lieu of tax, a scheme administered by the Museums, Libraries and Archive Council on behalf of the government.
