The development of new inspection frameworks

In April 2007 the new Ofsted brought together 39 different regulatory and inspection systems, each with its own processes, and although many of these were similar, there was significant variation in how we inspected across the various remits.

We have reviewed our practices and produced a framework to promote improvement in the services we inspect, improve engagement with providers and users, provide greater consistency and integration to our inspection and regulation and target inspection resources where they will have the greatest impact.
