NHS Institute fellowship scheme

The NHS Institute fellowship scheme is a key part of our strategy for developing leaders. It will help us to stimulate recognition, introduction and adoption of high impact solutions.

The scheme is intended to attract potential future leaders in innovation and service improvement. During the fellowship period there are opportunities to undertake a number of formal development activities such as;

  • developing a sound understanding of improvement science
  • completing an innovation or improvement project relevant to the NHS
  • building sustainable relationships with key NHS personnel within the dynamic and supportive environment of the NHS Institute

First phase

The closing date for applications for the first phase of recruitment was 10 November 2006 and the NHS Institute is delighted to introduce its first fellows. Following a huge response to the scheme from across all sectors of the NHS, we appointed four outstanding candidates. You can read about them by clicking on the below. There will be regular updates of their progress to follow.

Do you wish to undertake an exceptional development opportunity and have the ability to challenge and explore different perspectives about problems and issues? Would your organisation support your development as a knowledgeable leader of innovation and improvement and benefit from strengthened relationships between the NHS Institute and a wide network of organisations?

If so, then the NHS Institute fellowship could be for you. We will be recruiting again in October 2008.
