Advice on the Shared Services Journey

Toolkit for Migration to Shared Services

The toolkit is aimed at organisations who are at the beginning of a shared services journey. The journey starts with the development of a vision or strategy for the delivery of services and moves through business case development, design of the service, implementation and migration to live running and service improvement.

It sets out the most important considerations, expected activities and outputs at each stage and provides templates for key outputs, and some example documents from public sector organisations.

Guidance for central government shared service providers and their customers

This guide is aimed at central government providers and customers of shared services. It provides guidance on those areas that have been identified as key challenges to being a central government provider or customer of shared services, eg. upfront investment, governance, commercial models.
