Course Title: Introduction to Humanitarian Assistance in  Emergencies

The course is aimed at those who have a humanitarian assistance role in emergencies. Participants typically come from responders who manage and plan service delivery in education, social services, housing, emergency planning, voluntary organisations, crisis support teams and Primary Care Trusts.

Please note – this course is NOT intended to provide operational training.

 

Aim

To provide a foundation for the development of a humanitarian assistance capability for those with civil protection responsibilities.

 

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:


Pre-Requisites

If delegates have not previously attended Introduction to Civil Protection (ICP), the ICP pre-course reading should be completed so that participants are familiar with UK arrangements to respond to emergencies.

 

Progress

This event is a foundation level course, providing a basis for the more specialist events such as Recovering from Emergencies; Emergency Evacuation and Shelter Planning; Planning for Emergency Assistance Centres courses.
