There is no specific requirement to attend one of our introductory level courses before registering for a higher-level course. However there is an expectation that you will have a working knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and an understanding of the concept of Integrated Emergency Management.
The expected level of knowledge can be gained from experience in the field or by attending one of our introductory level courses as appropriate:
For courses related to Public Safety – Introduction to Crowd and Public Safety Management .
For courses related to Care of People – Introduction to Managing the Care of People in Emergencies .
For all other courses – Introduction to Civil Protection .
Pre-course work is required before you attend Introduction to Crowd and Public Safety Management . Full details will be provided with your joining instructions, approximately 4 weeks prior to the start date of your course.
For all our other courses we recommend our web-based pre-course package be used as a refresher to the subject of Civil Protection if required,
